Labels and looking professional

One of the first things I did when I found out I lost my job was make this blog three columns. That was a great since of accomplishment and something that was easy to do at the beginning. I also want to get my website renovated to become the portal to Froggy Fibers on the web. It would include links to my blog, my Etsy, my ArtFire, my Flickr etc... etc... etc. I, however, and not a web designer, graphic designer or similarly knowledgeable design type person. I am just a budding fiber artist.

What I have done recently is an effort to look more professional on my meager budget. So by using the banner from the blog, some cotton stationary, and a 9 inch paper trimmer I was able to create wrap around labels for my listed goods. Prior to this, I attached a business card and a cute little info card via hole punch and yarn. While I am not saying that using a business card isnt useful, there really are so many other things that they can be used for.

In order to avoid the commitment of Etsy vs ArtFire, I chose to commit to using my own website address. That's why its even more important that I can utilize that space appropriately as a portal to the world of Froggy Fibers. I'm sure there is more progress to come so stay tuned!

Brandishing a new look

I finally dug in and had someone create a banner and avatar for my store. I have been trying to do it myself but I just don't have that much of a sense for design. I absolutely love the new look. Its familiar but updated. It's me, but its not me. Plus, since I don't have a strong following (yet, I've got to be positive); I don't mind changing over the avatar. I just always got compliments in the chat room about the frog eye really standing out. That translates to "memorable." But still, I'm happy with it.

As you may have noticed, the banner up above has changed. I also received two avatars (below) to compliment my shop banner.

(And of course between yesterday and today I have made the rounds of Flickr, Wordpress, Etsy, Craftster, and Ravelry getting my "image" updated. I'm so excited, can you tell?
This lovely work was done by Fauxtograph on Etsy.com. She did a wonderful job and was quick, responsive and easy to work with in general. As you can see, I highly recommend her!

Spinning Streak and Website Wednesdays

The last couple of days have been pretty good for me. I have finished 3 new yarns from Sunday - Tuesday. I took a break today because this is my self imposed "Website Wednesday." Back at the beginning of the year when people are busy making resolutions for anything and everything I made a web-olution. No I just made that up, but I did make a resolution to use some web space I have been paying for the last 2 years. So I picked a day, Wednesday, and told myself that each week I was going to work on building a website on that space. My previous blog is sitting there sad and unused but that's another story altogether. So that's what I have been doing the last couple of days. I'll take pictures of the new yarns tomorrow. It's late and I don't have any readymade blog pics to add just now. I really just love these creative spurts. I just wish they would last longer!
